Adam Posener improves to 4-0 at Samourai 12
Some Behind the Scenes Pics, Perspectives and Details and, of course, the finish
On Friday Nov 15 ’24 Adam ‘Primetime’ Posener improved to 4-0 in Professional MMA; four finishes as a pro and 5-0 as an amateur with 5 finishes. For this blog post, to be a bit different, I will show some behind the scenes pics to portray some of the perspectives and personalities. Of course, I love to collect these experiences in blog format as reminder of these moments in time. These are some strong moments that we cherish, with our extended family, friends, peers and students.

Adam Posener and Tukon
Pictured above is a picture of Adam and Trukon after the fight.. Excellent fighter… coming in… this fight is billed as two undefeated prospects.. Trukon as 4-0 professionally, 2-1 Bare knuckle boxing, which is certainly not for the faint of heart, and 4-1 as an amateur.. We discovered really a kindred spirit and great personality. Both fighters came in with a strong desire to win, as a winner could be eligible for the Regional World Title fight in the not too distant future. I loved the glimpses of the kindred philosophy of mixed martial arts that were conveyed… He will undoubtedly move forward and continue climbing in his professional MMA career. He is a champion in MMA and will surely apply those principles holistically.
Glove up time
Interesting point… Gloves… Wraps… sizing.. After some exchanges on the feet… Adam had a couple of calf kicks and some offensive entries, which were successful, there were a couple of strangulation attempts with the RNC and the guillotine.. Adam was having a hard time getting his hands together… so.. we think.. Xl glove a bit too big and the padding on the back of the hand was a bit too thick… hard to clasp the hands… so.. next time we go Large glove and a little less wrap on the back of the hand.. I did not do the wrap this time… we try..
Pad work pre fight
Interesting point #2… We warm up with some pad work.. Unfortunately no mats to warm up with on the ground; so the ground work warm up with Matt Kwan was not too comfortable… eesh.. Adam got a little scrape on the knee…. small distraction to overcome.. oh… and… Thank you so much Matt Kwan for these pics… They are awesome… I usually don’t record when I am doing my thing, and…. now as a coach, and before as a fighter.. I am an old school zen romantic – works for my little brain..
Pad level change warm up
Warm up with some level change work is an essential part of the program… never neglect…
So, as we wait for the walkout, we get to see all the healthy food choices the casino patrons enjoy.. ha ha… yummy.
The cage approach.. pretty awesome.. ready..
Adam on the back..
So, the fight went to the 3rd round with some good action.. UFC fight pass has some good description and hype. Way better for the full experience … and there are many interviews you can see on Primetime’s IG.
Here is a link to IG for the finishing arm bar right at the end…

This is what I like to call a Mushin Moment.. Adam spent most of the fight in dominant position.. Trukon did defend well and certainly attempted to damage from the bottom with elbows. Adam did secure many strangulation catches, but the gloves were a hindrance. One time towards the end of the fight Adam secured a guillotine and tried to finish from the bottom but had a hard time getting his hands together so Trukon was able to defend and attempted some strong ground and pound from Adam’s guard but… Adam was able to snatch his arm during the exchange and the arm bar was tight immediately… Adam is not new to armbars, and although a rare technique in professional MMA these days, there it is… and it is what it is… 🙂
Adam post fight smile
In conclusion.. We would like to thank the awesome teams involved in this journey: Matt Kwan of On Guard BJJ, Dejan Kajic of Universal MMA, Dimitry of Ascension MMA, Lance Gibson Jr. for the good rounds in preparation from Gibson’s MMA, and, of course, the awesome team of Posener’s MMA Vancouver. Huge Thank you to ‘Furious’ George Kassimatis for coming out to help work the corner…. As you are very familiar with the ‘Primetime”..Also, Great work by Gustavo Rodriquez of “Art of Strength” for the strength and conditioning coaching, as the results are strong. There is also a growing list of sponsor’s and supporters. Thank you.. Big OSU!

So, as it is said, Gratitude opens the doors of blessings…. and… We will enjoy this moment, allow some time for integration of the experience to allow the future to unfold with maximum potential… and.. we will update the next plans for the first quarter of ’25 after some team discussions..Adam will not linger too long at the table of success because to enjoy the next meal, it is best to get hungry… . Together in the arts….
Thank you.
