Adam P 1st rnd RNC+Gio P 1st rnd TKO 5th Pro- Posener’s MMA Vancouver
Adam Posener wins BFL Am Title with 1st Rnd RNC / Gio Platon wins 5th Pro via 1st Rnd TKO.
On October 19 ’23 Adam Posener previous record (4-0) wins the BFL AM Welterweight Belt vs Jeremy Soto (7-3) from Mexico. Adam wins at around the 2 minute mark by RNC.
Here is a little play by play and back story. Training went well for Adam as he is looking to constantly improve his skills sets coming in to the BFL Amateur Welterweight Title fight. He also has the RITC Amateur Welterweight title. However, now that he turned 19 a little over a week ago, he can compete in B.C. for his home organization, BFL.
He did have a little injury on his shin from a couple weeks prior. As the combatants faced off, there was an initial exchange of strikes. Adam evaded Jeremy’s first low kick, Adam lands a clean calf kick but in the process, as he tells me, he reaggravated a previous injury. Then they both exchange right hands in the pocket with both barely missing. After that exchange Adam enters to the double leg with an offensive entry, which is secured.
Adam transitions to Jeremy’s back and works on his ushiro Sankaku, back triangle, but he mentioned it was slippery and instead secured the RNC at approximately the 2 minute mark of the 1st Round.
Adam will be turning Professional in his next match. His record of 5-0 does include 5 finishes. So the plan is in place to move forward in the professional ranks.
We would like to thank his awesome team for their support and contributions: Matt Kwan of On Guard BJJ, Dejan Kajic of Universal MMA, Sean Albrecht of Ascension MMA and BJJ, Cole Smith of The Sound/Roundhouse, and George Kassimatis of Posener’s MMA Vancouver.
Gio Platon wins 5th Pro MMA fight with 1st Round TKO
Here is some back story and fight details… Gio is looking forward to getting back in the cage after a bit of time… and then working his way back to the top of the division and getting another shot at the BFL Pro World Title.
At the start of the fight, Gio landed a solid right hand, Jose shot from a fair distance, Gio sprawled and quickly spun to the back, Jose stands, Gio slams with a modified suplex and secures the back with an arm trapped by his legs. Gio was close to getting the finish with a RNC but Jose defended well and then there was a scramble to the feet with an exchange of strikes. Jose indicated some hesitancy that was unclear, Gio goes in for a strike and then the ref stops the contest. It is apparent in hindsight that the modified suplex injured Jose’s shoulder or may have reaggravated a previous injury… We wish him and all the fighters well and full and speedy recoveries.
